Which Shea Sassy Soap is Best for Your Skin Type?

We use soap in our everyday lives, from our favourite shower gels and shampoos, to convenient hand sanitiser products that can be used on-the-go. But did you know that we all have different skin types, and that the soaps we choose have the power to benefit, or alternatively, harm our skin depending on their ingredients? Here at Shea Sassy, we’ve formulated our handmade, cruelty-free soaps with every type of skin in mind, because we believe in providing unique soap options for our equally unique customers!

So, which soap is best for your skin type? Firstly, let’s identify the main skin types and take a look at what ingredients will benefit you the most when it comes to starting your Shea Sassy cruelty-free skincare journey.

Normal

If you have a normal skin type, your skin barrier does not get upset by products with ‘harsh’ ingredients, and would not be described as particularly sensitive. For example, facial skincare with salicylic acid and other refining acids used to renew the surface layer of skin are less likely to cause sensitivity or breakouts for you. Your skin will be naturally hydrated, less prone to spots and soft to touch - you lucky thing! The best soap for normal skin is a cleansing and beautifully fragranced soap, so try our ultra fresh Shea Sassy Peppermint Ocean Soap with its reinvigorating peppermint essential oils and skin-loving sea kelp, or the delectable Shea Sassy Spiced Sweet Orange Soap packed with Vitamins A, C and E.

Dry/Sensitive

Those with dry skin often experience a tightness to the skin after bathing, and sometimes flakiness will occur in the drier, colder months. Dry, sensitive skin requires more care and you should seek out skincare products with moisturising properties to help the skin keep hydrated and build that surface layer to stop it from drying out easily. The best soap for dry skin is the Shea Sassy Milk & Honey soap with its super creamy goat milk and oats ingredients which will provide gentle relief for eczema and psoriasis sufferers, cleansing the skin without drying it out further. Our soap for dry and sensitive skin will soothe dry skin conditions and soften the skin, whilst the anti-bacterial benefits of honey will keep skin healthy and happy.

Combination/Oily

A common skin type among teenagers and adolescents (and some adults!) is combination skin which may include an oily T-zone with dry patches on the face and body. Whether its due to hormonal imbalances, diet or just genetic makeup, we’re all prone to breakouts of spots, and knowing which soap is best for spotty skin can work wonders to improve the appearance of the skin. The Shea Sassy Activated Charcoal Soap is great for combination and oily skin, combating spots with its added antibacterial wonder-ingredient tea tree oil. Activated charcoal soap will provide a deep clean, without stripping the skin of the oils that it needs to be healthy.

No matter what your skin type is, you’ll find the perfect handmade soap with us at Shea Sassy. Our cruelty-free soaps all contain skin nourishing avocado oil, shea butter and vitamins which promise a wealth of benefits! Which soap will you choose?
